Shackle Pin Slotted Nut (1/2″ BSF x 0.710″ AF) for 9hp , 12/4, 12/6, 14/6 and 15/6 Riley motor cars.
The 1/2″ BSF slotted nut used by Riley was made to work with a 7/16″ BSF spanner. The common application for this nut is on road spring shackle pins. It is also to be found on the brake adjuster assembly behind the gearbox on cable-braked cars. There are likely to be other places on the chassis where this nut is also used; unfortunately this information is not listed in the published Spare Parts Catalogues.
